THE BASICS
Yes, CITs register and pay for camp just like campers. Once they are 16, they qualify to be junior counselors, and do not have to pay. However - CITs do have the opportunity to earn back $150 of their registration fee per week (if approved). BENEFITS OF BEING A CIT
Being a Cosmo CIT means being part of the team that creates the "Best Camp Ever!" Our CITs gain job-readiness skills and leadership experience, make new friends and earn countless other benefits. They get resumé experience for college applications, practice conflict resolution strategies, and develop proactive thinking. Camp Cosmo's CIT Program is a great way for teens to unplug, stay active and outdoors, and have fun! |
RESPONSIBILITIES & PRIVILEGES
The CIT day starts at 8:30 (a half hour before our doors open to campers). Together, we prepare the space and supplies. When campers arrive, our CITs welcome each child and help them get involved in play. At morning meeting, CITs introduce themselves to the group, ask the question of the day, and share our delicious snacks. Throughout the day, they help campers during Cosmo activities, team up with campers who need their support, and assist in conflict resolution. At the end of each day, we clean our space and organize our supplies. Then, we regroup to talk about the challenges and successes of the day, and make plans for the week ahead. (Yes, CITs get popsicles too.)
CITS are encouraged to suggest and lead new activities, crafts and games. If you have a special skill or interest, please make note on the application.
We hope you'll join us for an amazing summer leadership experience.
